PearlJamLiveEddieWineTimeThe beloved Seattle grungers have been steadily pumping out albums since 1991’s nearly chart-topping Ten (which reached the number two spot while helping to solidify grunge music’s place in rock), and don’t have a stinker in the bunch – or anything close to the sort!

Since then, every album Eddie, Mike, Stone, Jeff, Matt, and Boom have put out has reached the top or second-to-top spot on the charts – with the exception of 2002’s Riot Act, which peaked at number five in the U.S. (although, ironically enough, it’s this blogger’s favorite album of the bunch!).

Yesterday afternoon, the boys from PJ announced their plans for 2016, which will see them headline arenas, festivals, and baseball stadiums!

They’ll head out on a spring arena tour during the months of April and May. To get specific, things start off April 8th at Ft. Lauderdale’s BB&T Center. That will be the first of four Florida shows to jump-start the tour, which will also see them play Miami, Tampa, and Jacksonville.

Pearl Jam closes out April by playing back-to-back nights at Philadelphia’s Wachovia Spectrum on the 28th and 29th.

They put the finale on the arena gigs by playing May 1st and 2nd at New York City’s Madison Square Garden!

However, the biggest exclamation of them all might be their headlining outdoor stadium shows at Boston’s Fenway Park and Chicago’s Wrigley Field.

During and just after their arena trek, the boys who brought you “Even Flow” will headline the 2016 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and Bonnaroo.

This year’s New Orleans Jazz Fest takes place April 22nd to May 1st with a line-up jam packed of diverse musical sounds and talent. PJ will share the stage with Stevie Wonder, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Neil Young, Lukas Nelson and the Promise of the Real, Snoop Dogg, Paul Simon, Steely Dan, Beck, Van Morrison, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, J. Cole, and Elvis Costello & the Imposters.

5gig favorite My Morning Jacket, Gary Clark Jr., Buddy Guy, Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings, plus many more help fill out the bill.

NO Jazz Fest line-up/ticket options.

In June Pearl Jam heads to The Farm in Manchester, Tennessee to join another great heap of artists at Bonnaroo 2016! Other big-name acts include James Murphy’s LCD Soundsystem, J. Cole, Ellie Goulding, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Death Cab for Cutie, M83, Halsey, a reunited Ween, Jason Isbell, CHVRCHES, Miguel, and country favorite Chris Stapelton, plus more.

5gig choices include Leon Bridges, Clutch, The London Souls, Tame Impala, and Haim.

Additional Dead & Company, made up of the remaining members of the Grateful Dead plus John Mayer, will play two sets.

Bonnaroo line-up/ticket options.

They’ll take center stage, errr somewhere between the second base bag and shallow center, at the home of the Red Sox on August 5th and 7th, before doing just the same at the Cubbie’s home on the 20th and 22nd. All four should be nothing short than memorable, career-spanning sets.

Tickets go on sale Friday, January 29th for the arena shows. Stadium on sale date has yet to be announced.
